Education Should be based on Conceptual Learning :- Engineer Affan Nomani

Engineer Affan Nomani, Author of CPS

Before writing the book " Comprehensive physical science", I have visited many educational institutions ( College, School and coaching Centre) where I have observed that Teaching strategy of  the faculties and Learning method of students  are based on  rote memorisation of concept.  But we must now that learning subject does not mean scoring good marks by rote memorisation of concept while we should understand the concept logically and scientifically.
First of all we need to understand What is Rote Learning or Conceptual Learning ?
According to  Educationist  Sudhanshu Sinhal, Rote learning is simply the storage of data in the brain.  It does not require any understanding of the data being stored. Rote learning is a memorisation technique based on repetition. The idea is that one will be able to quickly recall the meaning of the matter the more one repeats it.
Where is Rote Learning useful?
Rote learning or memorisation is widely used for mastering the foundational knowledge.  Its purpose is to create automaticity, so that the student will know something without having to think about it. Having multiplication tables, basic math facts, phonics, spelling and grammatical structures really well established will allow a student to speed up later on.
The question is why Conceptual Learning?
But if one doesn't understand the concepts of multiplication, simple memorisation of multiplication tables is not going to get one very far in real life.  Mastery of concepts is a more complex thought process that uses the facts to illustrate how something actually works.  Many students know the facts but they don't understand the concepts they illustrate, and this is the danger in over-reliance on rote memorisation.
We use math every day, but day-to-day life presents us with living math word problems, not worksheets with multiplication problems on them for us to solve.  Understanding when multiplication is necessary is part of mastering the concepts of multiplication - something one won't get from simply memorising the times tables.
What is Conceptual Learning?
Students must have the ability to apply their knowledge in today's competitive environment. This is why conceptual learning is the key to successful education. At its core, conceptual learning enables students to use what is familiar or what they have already experienced to better understand new subject matter.
When students and learners have a firm understanding of the concepts, how they are related to one another, and a few exemplars of each concept, they begin to develop their own framework that will help them draw conclusions about any situations throughout their career.
Both are useful tools, but ultimately Conceptual Learning triumphs
Thus, to sum up, rote learning can be a useful tool, but real, meaningful learning comes from the mastery of key concepts. As an educator, instructing students on the things they need to know must include explanations of the how's and why's, and not just the explicit facts, or else meaningful learning simply cannot take place.
I always appreciated the faculty those who are taking keen interest to teach the concept logically and scientifically. I hope that the educational institutions will apply the hundred percent Conceptual Learning method. Conceptual Learning method not only improve the skills of students while that will make the mind of students very sharp because It is the way to enhance students knowledge and expand skills to have clear view over the world.

Persecution of Minorities under the nose of the Constitution.

:- Affan Nomani , Editor, Huda Times. Almost seventy years ago, the Indian Constitution came into effect with its solemn declaration about the abolition of discrimination based on caste, religion, sex, and ethnicity.  The test of the Constitution is whether a government is able to advance the cause of these principles, to deepen democracy to the underprivileged, the marginalized and the disadvantaged- especially to the muslim minorities and to the other marginalized populations.  The Bjp government came to power with the slogan Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas ( With everyone, For Everyone's Development ) in 2014 and 2019.  Since the Bjp came to power, the gradual marginalization of Muslims- and other religious minorities - is a symptom of great churning in society, where Muslims- and others- are beginning to feel redundant because of the policies of the government. They are increasingly being told to adopt an 'Indian' ( namely Hindu ) way of Life and they are often told t...

For the first time in the history of West Bengal, the influential religious place Furfura Sharif is in the news for political reasons because   pirzada of Furfura Sharif contesting the Assembly election in West Bengal. Furfura Sharif is in the news because pirzada  Abbas Siddiqui, the 35-year-old who has floated the Indian Secular Front (ISF) ahead of the Bengal polls. Abbas Siddiqui-led ISF, a formation suddenly embraced by the Left Front and the Congress ahead of the Bengal polls. The main reason behind the alliance between ISF, Left front and Congress is that Furfura Sharif is very influential in Bengali Muslims and its effect on more than 90 seats. Welcome to New India where a Muslim boy is beaten for drinking water in a temple

Asif  beaten by Shringi Nandan Yadav for drinking water in a temple I was shocked by watching a video of a man purportedly beating a 14-year-old Muslim boy inside a temple in Ghaziabad that went viral on Social media.  In the video, it is seen that accused Shringi Nandan Yadav after knowing that a Muslim boy has entered temple premises, first approaches the boy, then hugs him and asks him his and his father's name. After the boy mentioned his name as Asif, Yadav then exhibits his mental weakness against Muslims and he continues to beat and abuse verbally. This kid's fault was that despite being his name is Asif and he was drinking water at a Temple. The accused identified Shringi Nandan Yadav, a native of Bhagalpur in Bihar was arrested by the Ghaziabad Police on Friday night after the video of the assault went viral. Affan Nomani Taking suo motu (on its own) cognizance of the video, police registered an FIR under Indian Penal Code sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (...
